New East Side Satellite Fire Station
Building a new satellite fire station on Sauvie Island presents a valuable opportunity to enhance emergency services and strengthen community safety. As part of the Fire District's long-term goal of continuous improvement, this strategic expansion will help reduce response times by positioning resources more effectively across the island. By decentralizing emergency services and ensuring broader coverage, residents can receive quicker assistance during critical situations. Additionally, a well-placed fire station helps contribute to maintaining insurance ratings. This investment not only reinforces public safety but also solidifies the District’s commitment to serving the community with efficiency and reliability.

Sauvie Island Fire District has partnered with Bailey Nurseries to secure a long-term lease for one acre of land, ensuring the establishment of a much-needed fire station—a vital project that would have faced significant challenges in finding suitable land without Bailey's support.

This new satellite fire station is funded through the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund, supporting the fire district’s ongoing commitment to improving emergency response and community safety.
The project officially started in June 2024 with the expectation for completion in August of 2025. Below are some renderings of the location for this station and what it will look like.
